Thai Massage

Thai Massage is a unique healing therapy with Indian origins in Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga. It combines yoga postures and stretching with various massage techniques, working along energy lines and pressure points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.

Thai Massage is performed on the floor in a comfortable mat. The recipient wears comfortable clothing to allow movement.

Benefits of Thai Massage

  • Reduces stress

  • Relieves muscle tension

  • Improves flexibility and range of motion

  • Boost the energy

  • Stimulates circulation

  • Calms down the mind

I can adapt the treatment for:

If you have a particular condition and you are not sure if you can recieve a Thai Massage, ask your doctor: “can I receive massage therapy? is there any movement that I need to avoid?”.

Why I Thai

I never thought I would become a massage therapist, and even less to teach others how to give a unique massage form.

The words “thai” and “massage” rang no bells with me.

But one special day I got my first thai massage.  The experience that I had was purely a yoga experience, like a long relaxation after a good focused practice, when my soul goes back to the essence and then comes back to a fresh and replenished  body.

After completing my first course in Uruguay, I realized that it was as amazing to receive as to give thai massage. I really enjoyed and developed the creative aspect of this art form, making every massage a unique experience.

At that time I was finishing my psychology degree. At university I learn a great deal about what mental health is but not much on how to keep it.  Learning Thai massage helped me to ground and reminded me the importance of my yoga practice to reconnect body and mind.

When we are giving  a thai massage we have to be concentrated on the present moment, the second your mind is somewhere else, you are stepping on someone else's arm or you might pull your  back. Meditation keeps our practice safe and at the same time recharges us, gives a break from the constant flow of thoughts.

I came to Montreal in 2009 to do the thai massage teacher’s training with Kam Thye Chow. After the training he told me: “you should stay in Montreal”. He did not realize how deep that phrase would imprint on my mind. I stayed longer and I happened to meet the man who now is my husband. We have two beautiful kids together. I feel very blessed for the many synchronicities that came together at that time so I can be the person I am today.
